How I work

An integrative practice, grounded in the profession.

My training is integrative, which means that I draw on different therapeutic traditions according to your needs and experience. My work is informed by psychodynamic, humanistic and relational thinking, alongside my experience of teaching and school leadership.

I am particularly interested in what happens within the therapeutic relationship. Together, we may notice recurring feelings, expectations or patterns and consider how they appear in your life, both within education and beyond it.

Different sessions may involve exploring earlier experiences, attending to current relationships, thinking practically about boundaries or noticing how emotional experience is felt in the body. The work is shaped by what you bring and by what we discover together.

My practice is guided by the ethical requirements of UPCA and UKCP, and I attend regular clinical supervision. Sessions are confidential, subject to the limits discussed and agreed before therapy begins.

Getting started

From a first email to weekly work.

01

A short call

A free, confidential 20-minute call by phone or video. A chance to describe what has brought you here and to hear how I might work with it. There is no obligation to continue.

02

An initial session

The first full 50-minute session gives us an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, relevant aspects of your history and what you would like the work to address.

03

Ongoing sessions

Fifty minutes, at a regular time where possible. We review the work together regularly and consider its direction and duration.
